Kevin Cummings, chairman and CEO of Investors Bank, says he and wife Patricia McQuillan Cummings ’77 epitomize the Warren Buffett quote: “You want to associate with people who are the kind of person you’d like to be – the most important person by far is your spouse.” The Cummings reside in Summit, where Patricia enabled and supported Kevin’s career — first as a CPA and partner at KPMG and now as chairman and CEO of Investors Bank.
Patricia’s own career included positions in teaching, public relations and banking, after earning her bachelor’s degree in urban studies and secondary education from Saint Peter’s University in 1977. She left the business world to focus on her family and the couple’s four children: Katie, a graduate of Bowdoin College; Kevin and William, graduates of the College of the Holy Cross; and Mary, a graduate of Colby College. Patricia’s dedication to her children and extended family is an inspiration to all who know her.

Eugene Flinn ’80, along with his wife, Joyce, have two grown children, Cedar and Celia. Eugene is a retired restaurateur and currently manages family real estate.
Eugene graduated from Saint Peter’s in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in history. The Flinn family has a long history with Saint Peter’s. Eugene’s older siblings—Chris and Colleen—also attended the University. Eugene’s father, Eugene C. Flinn Ph.D., was an adjunct professor at Saint Peter’s for almost 20 years. Having a deep connection with the Jesuits, Eugene worked in Saint Peter Hall as a waiter for the Jesuit community while a student. Getting to know the Jesuits of Saint Peter’s in their home environment was a joy for Eugene. As Rev. Tom Sheridan, S.J., would say, “I gave Eugene a start in the restaurant business.” Eugene truly appreciated that opportunity and is also grateful for the four-year scholarship he received. Eugene was also an active member of the Glee Club and president of Argus Eyes.
Eugene has continued his service to Saint Peter’s and other Jesuit schools in the Metropolitan area, functioning as an “Auctioneer for Others.” He has hosted multiple fundraising events at his then-restaurant, Amanda’s, in Hoboken as well as serving as the auctioneer for the Hearts & Minds: The Saint Peter’s University Scholarship Celebration event in 2019.
Recently Eugene has cultivated his love of painting under the tutelage of Rev. Oscar G. Magnan, S.J., Ph.D., retired Saint Peter’s University professor of fine arts.
